From Home Studio to Creative Vision

Welcome to Kyanmo Creative Studios: Our Vision & What to Expect

Welcome! I’m so glad you’ve found your way to Kyanmo Creative Studios. Whether you’re here out of curiosity, looking for creative inspiration, or seeking a partner for your next big project or personal transformation, I hope you feel right at home.

You’ll notice that I often use “we” and “our” when talking about the studio. While Kyanmo is currently a solo venture (with a little help from my loyal boxer-retriever, Luna), I keep this language because I’m actively working toward expanding my team. The demand and workload are already hinting that the day will come soon, and I want to be ready when it does. For now, it’s just me and Luna, but the vision is always growing.

Where We Are (and Where We’re Headed)

Kyanmo Creative Studios is currently run from my home studio apartment near Wellington West in Westboro, Ottawa. It’s a vibrant, creative neighbourhood, full of energy and inspiration—perfect for a business built on creativity and connection. My “office” is flexible: sometimes it’s my cozy living room, sometimes a sunlit table at a local café, or a meeting space around the city. While I dream of a permanent studio space in the future, this flexible approach allows me to meet clients where they’re most comfortable and keeps my own creativity flowing.

The Heart of Kyanmo: Creativity, Community, and Growth

The vision behind Kyanmo Creative Studios is to empower individuals and businesses to tap into their creative potential, build meaningful connections, and grow—both professionally and personally. My approach is shaped by years of research in art, art history, and the science of creativity, as well as a deep interest in mindfulness and mental health.

I believe creativity is more than just a skill—it’s a mindset, a way of approaching life and work that can transform not just what we do, but how we feel and connect with others.

Mindfulness, Mental Health, and Neuro-Lingustics

Alongside my creative work, I’ve spent years exploring mindfulness practices and studying mental health. This journey naturally led me to NLP—Neuro-Linguistic Programming. If you’re new to NLP, it’s a practical approach to understanding how our thoughts, language, and behaviours influence our experiences. NLP offers tools for more effective communication, overcoming limiting beliefs, and building stronger relationships—not just in business, but in our family lives and within ourselves. It’s about unlocking new possibilities, whether you’re leading a team, navigating a tough conversation, or simply trying to show up as your best self.

A Bit About Me (Kyla)

I grew up in some of the most charming corners of Eastern Ontario—Merrickville with its canals and artisan shops, Kemptville’s forests and rivers, and Brockville’s beautiful St. Lawrence waterfront. Each place gave me a sense of community, creativity, and the importance of connection.

Travel has been a huge part of my life. I spent three years backpacking through Europe, Australia, and Asia, volunteered in Kenya, and made memories on family trips down south. Work and personal adventures have taken me to cities like NYC, Washington DC, Montreal, Vancouver, London, Paris, and across Canada’s east coast. These experiences sparked ideas and research that now live on in Kyanmo’s art prints, workbooks, and coaching strategies.

Professionally, I’ve worked in fashion, retail, finance, and hospitality. My time in fashion especially taught me how trends shape not only what we wear, but how we think, feel, and interact. This curiosity about creativity, culture, and community led me to explore how we can build healthier, more connected lives—at work and at home.

Art, Design, and the Magic of Synchronicity

As an artist and designer, I’ve learned that attention to detail, discipline, and coordination are just as important in life as they are in art. Sometimes, the way things come together feels like more than coincidence—those little moments of synchronicity that seem to nudge us in the right direction. These experiences have deepened my belief in something greater—call it the Universe, God, or Universal Life Force Energy. I see creativity as a spiritual practice as much as a professional one.

Luna: My Four-Legged Muse

In April 2024, I adopted Luna, a boxer-retriever who has quickly become my creative companion. I truly believe she was meant to be in my life. Her story is one for another day, but she’s a daily reminder of the power of synchronicity, the importance of trusting our instincts, and the magic that can happen when we align ourselves with what we truly want. Luna reminds me of my childhood wishes (I always wanted a boxer), and even of our family dog, Moka. Through her, I’m reminded that even after loss and challenge, life has a way of bringing us the companions and experiences we’re meant to have—if we’re open and willing to do the work.

Looking Forward: Let’s Create and Grow Together

I’m excited to connect with people who are ready to grow—whether you’re building a business, reinventing your life, or simply looking for a new perspective. I’ve spent years learning, experimenting, and building, and now I’m eager to share these insights with anyone looking for expansion, creativity, and connection.

If you’re seeking a creative partner, a coach, or just a fresh set of eyes on your next project, I’d love to hear from you. I believe the best opportunities come when we’re open, curious, and willing to collaborate.

A Thought to Leave You With

If you’ve worked with me before, or followed my journey online, you might recognize this favorite quote of mine:

“If you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely.”
— Roald Dahl

Thank you for visiting Kyanmo Creative Studios. Here’s to new beginnings, creative adventures, and a few sunbeams along the way.

Ready to explore what’s possible? Reach out anytime—I’d love to connect. And who knows, Luna might even make an appearance in our next conversation.
