Tense, A Present plays with language, time, and the curious challenge of remaining connected to the moment we are actually living.

Built around the double meaning of present—both a point in time and something given—the artwork considers how easily attention can move between what has already happened and what might happen next. The past carries experience, the future carries possibility, but the present is where either can be understood, reconsidered, or acted upon.

As the eighth artwork in Affirmations II, Tense, A Present brings the collection into presence. Its wordplay creates an intentionally open interpretation: a reference to grammatical tense, a reflection on time, and a reminder that the present itself can be something worth noticing.
